Event Booking Protection
Terms of Service
Last modified date: December 3rd, 2010
How Event Booking Protection Works
While you are a Member of our service, Event Booking Protection provides cash back (by means of a cheque to you or bank transfer to your account) for unused Tickets, if you are unable to attend a scheduled entertainment, theatrical or other recreational event worldwide in specified circumstances. Event Booking Protection will cover the purchase price of your Ticket, including any applicable processing fees (up to the lesser of 10% of the Ticket's face value and £5), up to a total maximum of £50 per Ticket and a maximum of £200 in total per Event. A limit of £500 per Year applies to each Member.

You must be a Member at the time of the incident and at the time a Claim is submitted. You must have booked and guaranteed your Ticket with a valid credit/debit card or by cash and have been provided with a valid receipt of your payment.

Event Booking Protection applies in the following qualifying circumstances:
  • Sickness, Accidental Injury or death of the Member or Ticket holder
  • Member is directly involved in a traffic accident while en route to the Event (as evidenced by a police report)
  • Member's public transportation by air, train, bus, coach, ship or boat ("Common Carrier") is delayed due to strike, breakdown or adverse weather conditions causing the Member to miss the Event (as evidenced by confirmation from the Common Carrier)
  • Member is unexpectedly called out of town (more than 100 miles from home or the Event) which requires an overnight stay and which prevents the Member from using the Ticket (as evidenced by hotel/travel receipts)
Where the member has a series/season Ticket or multi-day Ticket and miss an Event that is covered by this benefit, an amount that the insurer considers to be a fair, pro rata amounts, shall be paid.

Event Booking Protection will not apply to the extent that the Member is aware, at the time that a qualifying Ticket is purchased, of any illness affecting the Member or another Ticket holder as a result of which the Member or Ticket holder is unable to attend a qualifying Event. You must not be aware of any material fact, matter or circumstance at the time that a Ticket is purchased which is likely to give rise to a claim. You must use due diligence and do all things reasonably practicable to avoid or diminish any payment under this benefit protection.

This Event Booking Protection is in excess of any expenses that are reimbursable by the Event organiser or Ticket seller. You must also have used all reasonable endeavours to obtain redress or compensation under any insurance policies available to you.

References in these Terms of Service to a Year are to the 12 month period commencing on the date on which the Member joins the Service or any subsequent 12 month period, as applicable.
How to Request a Claim
You can initiate a claim on this site. The claim documentation must be submitted within 60 days of the missed Event. You will need to submit a completed claim request form along with a copy of the cash receipt or credit/debit card statement(s) AND receipts which show the date that the Tickets were purchased for the missed Event, the seller of the Tickets, the number of Tickets purchased, the price of the Tickets AND all original and unused Tickets for which you are seeking reimbursement. You must include the name, address and phone number of the credit/debit card provider if these details are not visible on the copy of the statement(s).

In addition, you will need to include documentation supporting the cause of the claim including copies of official death certificates (in the event of death), written medical reports (in the event of sickness or accidental injury), official police reports (in the event of a traffic accident), notices from the Common Carrier (in the event of Common Carrier delay) and hotel/travel expense receipts (in the event of being called out of town).
