Hotel Reservation Protection
Last modified date: December 3rd, 2010
While you are a Member of our Service, Hotel Reservation Protection provides cash back (by way of a
cheque to you or a bank payment to your account) if a hotel with which you have made a reservation and
received a verifiable confirmation number, notifies you on arrival that it has no rooms available
because of Overbooking and you have to stay in another hotel.
This benefit will cover an amount equivalent to the quoted room rate for the Overbooked
Hotel with which you originally booked (excluding any taxes and fees) up to a maximum of £250 in
any Year.
You must be a Member at the time of the incident and at the time a Claim is submitted. You must have
booked and guaranteed your room with a valid credit card and have been provided with a reservation
confirmation number. You must provide proof from the hotel that an Overbooking occurred at the time of
your check-in. You must have stayed in another hotel that evening with a receipt for that stay. The
Overbooked hotel must be more than 50 miles from your home. This protection is valid for one night per
trip. Any request for a claim must be submitted as soon as possible, but no later than 30 days from the date of the
Overbooking. You must have used all reasonable endeavours to obtain redress or compensation from any
insurance policies available to you.
An "Overbooking" occurs when a reservation is made in your name (and a reservation number is issued)
for a room that is available on a specific date for an agreed rate; and subsequently at the time of
your check-in, no room is available for you at that rate (or less) at the same hotel, and "Overbooked"
shall have a corresponding meaning.
This Hotel Reservation Protection is in excess of any expenses that are reimbursable by the hotel with
which you originally booked. You must also have used all reasonable endeavours to obtain redress or
compensation under any insurance policies available to you.
References in these Terms of Service to a Year are to the 12 month period commencing on the date on
which the Member joins the Service or any subsequent 12 month period, as applicable.
You can
initiate a claim
on this site. You need to do so within 30 days of the Overbooking. You will need to submit a
completed request claim form along with a copy of the credit/debit card statement(s) that confirms charges for
the hotel room where you stayed. You must include the name, address and telephone number of the
credit/debit card provider if these are not visible on the copy of the statement(s).
Please note that [Webloyalty/we is/are] not responsible for making any payment or other settlement
in respect of a claim but only for making a claim under the relevant insurance policy if
you request us to do so in accordance with this procedure.
In addition to the restrictions stated above, the Hotel Reservation Protection does not apply if:
- The hotel is uninhabitable for any reason.
- The Overbooked hotel or the hotel in which you stayed for the night is 50 miles or less from your home.
- You did not have to pay anything for any alternative accommodation arranged for you by the Overbooked hotel.
